What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is an avenue to better understand and change what's not working in your life. It provides the means to better understand the problems that stand between you and happiness and greater fulfillment.
Psychotherapy is also a preventive tool that plays a large part in maintaining overall health and wellness and a more balanced life.
What can I expect from therapy sessions?
During sessions you will talk about the concerns and problems in your life. A session lasts 50 minutes, and regular sessions offer continuity and best results for change. During the time between sessions it is beneficial to think about the session, the process, and what was discussed.
How does therapy work?
By creating a trusting, confidential relationship with a non-judgmental therapist, by talking through everything that is on your mind, by putting your thoughts and feelings into words without feeling dismissed or judged, and by receiving professional advice and honest, caring feedback, change happens.
You begin to feel better about yourself and are more able to solve difficult problems, make better decisions and feel more in control of your life. Painful thoughts and feelings become relieved, and you see yourself in a new and better way.
What kind of therapy do you provide?
I provide individual therapy for adolescents and adults, and I also provide couples therapy.
